Heritage in the Hands of African Youth
4th May 2023, 16:00 – 18:00 GMT
The ICOMOS Emerging Professionals Working Group for the Africa Region invites you to commemorate African World Heritage Day 2023, alongside our Head of Programs and Outreach, Mutanu Kyany’a, together with Ladji Dianifaba, Mahja Barka, and Mutana Wanjira.
The webinar seeks to highlight several initiatives of young people from Africa in favour of the valorization of African cultural heritage; serving as the testimony of an active youth having made the choice to take in hand its destiny and that of Africa through heritage.
The African World Heritage Day was proclaimed in 2015 by the 38th session of the UNESCO General Assembly. This important day represents a major opportunity for peoples, especially Africans, to celebrate the continent’s rich and unique cultural and natural heritage, but also to promote it and raise awareness of the importance of its preservation.
