Centre for cultural value is a national research centre based at the University of Leeds. Reflecting value is a podcast under the centre for cultural value. It seeks to ask big questions relating to cultural value in a reflective space.
Hosted by Dr Robyn Dowlen, Reflecting Value shares the successes and challenges of communicating cultural value, bringing together a range of thought-provoking contributors for discussion and reflection.
The second season of this podcast seeks to speak to the people at the intersections of cultural participation from researchers to practitioners, cultural curators to participants.
Our director, Chao Tayiana Maina, is privileged to have been a part of the first episode, season two, alongside Rebecca Black and Harry weeks.
In this episode, they seek to explore the different ways that cultural organizations and practitioners use the digital to engage with audiences. They explore the role of Tik-Tok in growing engaged audiences; how the digital can help build connections with communities at a hyper-local level; and the ways in which African communities are taking back ownership of their heritage through the process of digitization.
You can listen to Reflecting Value at Spotify, Apple Music or any other podcast platform.
