We’re pleased to have taken part in the Museums Lab 2021 project. The programme has been developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Museum of Natural History of Berlin, and the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) of Berlin, in close cooperation with the African consultancy group The Advisors.
The programme is aimed at fellows, young executives from African and German museums and involves African-German teams of facilitators/experts. It consists of joint learning, exchange, and continuing education on the future of museums in African and in German countries. It also aims at establishing lasting networks between future shapers of museum concepts on both sides.
Our founder, Chao Tayiana Maina who participated as a panelist in the session Digitization, digitization strategies and digital Collections Management presented on digitisation and digitisation strategies – Specifically looking at working with landscape and built environment as archives.
“I view the Museums Lab as an opportunity to “radically reimagine what museums could be in the future”. My hope is that participants will “dare to envision museums that are centres of innovation and critical dialogue, built on a strong foundation of mutual respect between institutions in the North and those in the South.”
(Chao Tayiana Maina, Founder- A.D.H)
